We made it!

Congratulations to Melissa Primus for being the winner of our spring X-Treme Body Makeover session!  Melissa lost 15.4 pounds, over 10 inches, and went from poor or below average to excellent or above average in working heart rate, push-ups and planks!  Pretty impressive!  This is what Melissa has to say about her experience:

“Working out on a regular basis is something I had not done in a number of years even though I knew that I should be.  I finally made myself take that first step and sign up, and then come to the first class, and even after a rough day one I made myself come to the second class.  Before I knew it I had made it through the ten weeks, saw good results, and am working to make it be a lifestyle change rather than something I tried for 10 weeks.  Thank you for the encouragement throughout the 10 week program, for making the class environment something that is not as intimidating as some other workout settings, and for being something that is open to all levels.

The one thing that really got my attention, made me decide that I had to do something, and led to me starting the classes and changing my eating was that I learned in early March that my cholesterol numbers were not good and I did not want to fix the situation be simply taking a pill for the rest of my life.  Earlier this week I went in to get my cholesterol re-checked and learned today that since my appointment in early March, my overall cholesterol dropped 42 points – down to 202. (still room for improvement,but I was not expecting that big of a drop).  My LDH number also came down to a better number, but still needs some work, and my triglycerides dropped over 60 points – back to the ideal range.  No talk of medication and I don’t need to go back for one year!  In addition, my blood pressure was right in line and I feel better than I did 3 months ago.   Thank you for your help in that progress!

I feel like I have a ways to go yet in improving my overall health and I look forward to continuing the classes as part of the way to reach those goals.”

All regular Monday classes will not be held on Labor Day, September 6.

WE WILL BE HAVING CLASS FROM 6-7 AM LABOR DAY AND ALL ARE WELCOME!

Angela has a great combo workout planned for you to get your holiday Monday pumped!  Even if the morning workout isn’t your thing, you can come and burn a few calories so you can enjoy your holiday picnic even more!

If Des Moines schools cancel classes the 5:45 am class is canceled for that day. All other classes will be held unless it is determined we should cancel them. Check here for current information on classes.
